| Writers’ Workshop is for students entering the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. The goal of this course is to prepare students for advanced writing, reading, and discussion of non-fiction texts, literature and poetry. Students will learn proper paragraph formatting as taught by El Segundo Middle School Language & Literature instructors. Students will also review essay structure and organization, topic sentence creation, thesis creation, basic grammar, and sentence structure. In addition, students will read poetry and participate in peer editing sessions. This course is offered as two separate, two-week courses. Session 1 begins on June 13th and ends on June 24th. Session 2 begins on June 27th and ends on July 8th. Students can attend one or both sessions as different material will be covered in each session. This class meets 9am - 1pm, Monday through Friday. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
