This is a standards-based English class with an emphasis on high school entry level reading (comprehension and vocabulary development), literary response and analysis, writing, listening and speaking strategies and critical thinking skills. A variety of literature (poetry, short stories and novels) will be used to enhance various grammatical and writing skills. An emphasis will be placed on completing summer reading and essay writing. |
