Internships provide real world experience to those looking to explore career
options and gain skills related to a particular career field. Incoming juniors and seniors may be eligible to earn high school credit for completing a minimum of 50 hours of on-the-job training with an approved business partner. Internships must include one or more supervisors or mentors who will support the students’ growth and skills acquisition, while providing constructive feedback and evaluation. The course is based on a Pass/Fail grading system. Students completing the requirements above will receive a passing grade (P) and five semester credits on their transcripts in the fall. Except for rare circumstances, students must secure their own potential internships. Businesses, companies, and organizations must then enter a Partnership Agreement with the El Segundo Education Foundation by mid-May. All summer internships are overseen on-line by the El Segundo High Career Educational Advisor. |
